Description
This listing is for a fully functional, RARE, BATTERY OPERATED WALKING BEAR WITH XYLOPHONE w/box as shown. This is not a reproduction toy. It is in MINT condition. Colors are clear & bright. Litho, tin, plush fur xylophone (one of the brass pins on the pink key has been repaired) & plastic parts are exceptionally nice & clean. No corrosion anywhere. When button on remote is pushed he does the correct 6 actions as follow: (1) Eyes light up, (2) Right hand beats the xylophone in a sideways motion across the keys, (3) Musical sound is made, (4) He walks forward in a charming manner, (5) Head swings from left to right, (6) Left hand beats the xylophone in an up and down motion. Very neat! A nice toy to display with your bear collection. This toy has been tested and works great. Very strong mechanism. No damage of any kind. Battery compartment is mint as are the connections and insertion card. The original box is included. It is in complete, excellent condition with no damage or repairs of any type. Perfect for display with this toy. This is a "MADE IN JAPAN" toy listed in Don Hultzman's book, COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed on page 201. It is a 1950's era toy made by the Linemar Co. It has a rarity of 9 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $680.00 in C-10 condition without the box. The original box is included. It is in complete, excellent condition with no damage or repairs of any type. Perfect for display with this toy.. It has the Linemar logo and the usual " LINEMAR BEST BY FAR " & " ONE OF THE MANY LINEMAR TOYS. DO YOU HAVE THEM ALL? " printed on the box. The Linemar logo can also be seen on the tin litho on the base of the toy. Would make a nice addition to any discriminating collector of battery operated toys.
