Description
O Scale Brass Sunset Models Union Pacific 3800 Class Early Challenger This two rail Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 Early Challenger was imported by Sunset Models and made in Korea by Samhongsa. The Challenger is numbered 3802 and has the Union Pacific Overland shield on the tender. This fine engine was completly rebuilt for me by Doug Cockerham of Texas. Since it's return to me I have had it in an enclosed display case. So it is being sold as new since it's rebuild as I have not run it. This powerhouse has two large Pittman motors with balanced brass flywheels and two independent drives. It is very heavy and will pull the wall paper off the walls. It has the original box and the engine will be stretch film wrapped to a board for shipment. Doug's fees are as follows: dual Pittman/flywheel drives is $1,500.00 and his paint and weathering and extra detailing is $500.00. So there is no less than $2,000.00 worth of his fine work in this engine plus the shipping charges. I am starting the bidding at the minimum of $2,750.00. The selling price includes Fed Ex ground shipping to the lower 48 states. I put this engine on my layout to get a better picture of it. Any questions please ask before bidding. This model will be carefully packaged and I am not responsible for any shipping damage. The model will be shipped in the same condition as in the picture. Speaking of shipping, I am not the faster shipper in the world, however, I am one of the best packers of models. I am very involved in running my outdoor trains and I am very often gone for a week at a time to outdoor train meets. Considering I am changing to 1.6" scale, 7.5" gauge trains and selling all of my O scale, I do not accept returns of offer refunds. All bids are final.
