Description
A complete, 10-car Railway Classics brass N-scale Milwaukee Road Olympian Hiawatha passenger train set, factory-painted in the 1952 scheme of orange and maroon with black roofs, and the cars are still in the individual factory plastic wrapping. I was reluctant to un-wrap ‘em even for this listing, so the pictures were taken with the factory wrapping still around the individual cars. The set consists of one (1) each Express Baggage, Mail Express (RPO), Baggage-Dorm, Tap Lounge, 40-Seat Diner, 14-Section Touralux Coach-Sleeper, 10-6 Lake-series Sleeper, Creek-series Sleeper-Skytop Observation, and two (2) 52-Seat Coaches, plus 10 little bags containing a couple of additional detail parts for each car. Please note that a Super Dome is NOT included in this set, but I do have a 4-car “add-on” set also up for auction. I bought this set new, and it has never been run, so it is in mint condition – I wish I could keep it. These sets are pretty rare – if you didn’t have a reservation when they first came out, you were pretty much out-of-luck. These cars are real beauties – a credit to the maker of these fine sets, Ajin Precision of Korea. Because Railway Classics is in “hibernation,” and Ajin has declined to do any more N-scale sets for them anyway, it is highly unlikely that these sets will ever be re-done. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs, $10.00 packing and handling, and insurance, which is required, on the advice of a friend who actually knows what he's doing. I will ship this set via Federal Express or UPS, but I can’t really offer a shipping cost until I know where it’s being shipped to, and I will take non-U.S. bids. Regrettably, I cannot take Pay-Pal or a personal check for something of this value – I must insist on a cashier’s check or Postal Money Order as payment, which must be received within 7 days of the close of the listing or the set will be re-listed. I am listing this starting at the price I paid for it new. Thank you for looking, and bidding if you so chose, and good luck to the bidders.
