N I N J A A R A S H I Soft Vinyl Talking Figure Masudaya/Modern Toys circa mid-1970's In the early-to-mid 1970's, Modern Toys, a division of Japanese toy manufacturer Masudaya, produced a line of giant-size vinyl figures with pull-string talk boxes that were embedded into the backs of the figures. By and large, the figures were of various characters from the tokusatsu (live action) super hero TV series that aired in Japan (and in some cases Hawaii). Offered for sale is a very rare and mint, deadstock Ninja Arashi talker in absolutely perfect condition. I have never watched an episode of Ninja Arashi but I am told that the hero is a chicken-humanoid who rides around on horseback in feudal Japan (i.e. samurai era) fighting bad guys with his sword.(actually, it could be a hawk-humanoid since the idea of a chicken-humanoid super hero sounds sort of dumb). In any event, offered for sale is an original, vintage (and rare in any condition) Ninja Arashi talker that has a pull-string talkbox built into the back panel of the figure. This toy is in absolutely perfect, deadstock condition complete with its original box and pull-string tag. I have been a collector of vintage Japanese toys for quite some time and can say, with no hesitation, that this 30+ year old toy is in truly exceptional condition that surpasses that of most Mint in Bag figures.Lastly, one other noteable point: the figure comes with its original neon green plastic sword that is usually missing when the figure is sold w/o its original box (probably because the sword looks so dumb that most kids decided to throw it away).To explain, for some reason, the folks at Masudaya decided to package the figure with this big neon green plastic sword even though it is waaaaay out of proportion to the size of the figure.By looking at the picture included in the listing, one can see that the sword is so out of proportion that it's honestly hard to tell it's supposed to be a sword. Instead (at least to me), it looks more like the figure is carrying around a big neon green 2" x 4" (i.e. a big whup-ass stick!) ;-) $1395 TERMS OF SALE: Payment is due immediately upon purchase with PayPal from VERIFIED users who have confirmed their mailing/billing address with PayPal.
